Stranger is an RPG/RTS hybrid where the player acts as Kagar, Steiger and Mordlock, three very different ogre-like characters wrongfully banished from their home and catapulted into separate corners of a harsh world filled with evil sorcerers, man-eating insects and goblin villages. Each character has his own styles of combat and magic which, when combined, can give you new advantages that will help you succeed and survive. Youll recruit goblins from small settlements scattered across the map and train them to become your loyal and skilled battle minions, and equip your crew with magic crystals for protection against the savage beasts of the wilderness. The controls and menu navigation can seem a little intimidating at first, but once you get the hang of it these elements become unique and challenging. Fans of Age of Empires will enjoy Strangers resource-based army assemblage and real-time combat. A fluid third-person camera lets you zoom and rotate the world to your hearts desire. In addition to a 30+ hour single-player campaign, the game also offers a multiplayer mode for up to eight players. Overall, Stranger is a solid, enjoyable game for the fantasy-loving, multitasking strategist who doesnt mind a slight learning curve. |
