Description:
Beyond the Sword, the second expansion to Sid Meier's Civilization IV, adds tons of new content and features to a game already teeming with goodies. Specifically, Beyond the Sword adds 11 new scenarios (taking place after the creation of modern weapons) and 10 new civilizations to play; expect to spend many more hours pushing your civilization to achieve complete domination. Notable additions include a couple of new mods, Afterworld and Final Frontier, which turn Civ IV into a turn-based game with either a Diablo-esque or space-conquest theme, respectively. Of course, further polish has been given to the original epic game in an effort to pound out the kinks - one being the endgame content in which players try to colonize Alpha Centauri, which was previously anticlimactic and unfulfilling. Also, spies can now be recruited much earlier in the game, and units have new, culture-specific graphics. Without question, Civilization fans must pick up this latest expansion; Mr. Meier never disappoints.
