Bee Movie Game is an adventure/platformer based on Dreamworks' animated film, Bee Movie. In the game you control the star bee of the movie, Barry B. Benson voiced by Jerry Seinfeld as he zips through the crowded and dangerous streets of New York City, while building your class action lawsuit against the human race for their unscrupulous thievery of honey from bees everywhere. The controls are very simple - you use the arrow keys to move Barry and the number-pad keys 1 through 4 as action buttons. There's actually very little action to control, though - the gameplay consists of responding to on-screen prompts telling you which direction to go in order to avoid colliding with traffic, or which number button to mash to avoid situations like a soccer ball flying at you. You'll usually be given a glance at what's to come with a brief cut scene showing ways you could potentially be squished, and then thrust into action. The game does a fair job of making the film interactive, but at this point it's hard to escape the feeling the Bee Movie Game is a half-hearted effort thrown together simply to promote the release of the movie. Let's hope the game grows into something better by the time of its November release.
